Bridges
A dental bridge is a device used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth or implants that are capped with crowns.
Bridges can help you restore chewing and speech function, as well as improve your oral health, lower risk of periodontal disease and enhance your appearance.
Bridge Procedure
The procedure usually takes two or three appointments, with post care treatment instructions provided throughout each step.
At the first appointment, our dentists will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap by removing a portion of the enamel and dentin.
Impressions of the teeth are taken to ensure correct bite and match the opposing tooth. The impressions are sent to our lab where the bridge will be fabricated.
Our dentists will provide you with a temporary bridge to cover up the gap during this time.
When your permanent bridge is ready, our dentists will carefully place it, making sure your bite alignment remains the same.
Post Procedure
A strict regimen of brushing and flossing will keep the bridge and surrounding teeth clean. This is critical as the bridge relies on the neighboring teeth for support.
